Championing a Community Approach to Mental Health
We ourselves are an untapped resource in mental health. Reach out and check-in with your nearest and dearest. “How are you?” is a powerful question if we ask sincerely and listen intently. Kindness and compassion are around us if only we look a little closer. Sometimes all it takes is to feel heard and to know that someone is listening.
OUR FOUNDER
“We are our own agents of change. We can be the light at the end of the tunnel, both for ourselves and for those around us. A community approach to mental health simply means practising kindness, compassion and understanding, because a little support goes a long way.” – YAM Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah, Co-founder & President of Green Ribbon Group.
Like most, YAM Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan has experienced her fair share of challenges with mental health. From adolescence until the present day as a mother, wife and working woman. As such, mental health has always been a topic close to YAM Tengku Puteri’s heart.

OUR ROLE
The Green Ribbon Group does not wish to replicate initiatives that are already in place. We see ourselves as “aggregators” of the mental health community in Malaysia with three main objectives – to advocate, to fundraise and to collaborate. We aim to empower organisations and individuals who have been working tirelessly to improve mental healthcare here at home.
Our Dream
To contribute to a more holistic ecosystem for an empathetic, world-class community approach to mental health in Malaysia.
